Top 10 Utah high school baseball players in Class of 2024
8. Zachary Carlson, OF, Juan Diego Catholic
Carlson, a Northwestern signee, is rated eighth in the state in both the Perfect Game and Prep Baseball Utah rankings. He’s the top outfielder on both of those lists, as well.
Prep Baseball wrote that Carlson has the work ethic and tools to hit at a high level and that the scouting service expects him to be a Player of the Year candidate this go-round.
As a junior last season at Juan Diego Catholic High School, Carlson hit .378 in 114 plate appearances. He had 24 RBIs and 18 extra-base hits, six of which were home runs.
