10 most impactful players for NCAA women’s basketball tournament
8. Elizabeth Kitley, C, Virginia Tech
Virginia Tech made its first-ever trip to the Final Four last season and Kitley will be trying to get the Hokies back to that point again. At 23-6, the Hokies have flown under the radar a bit, but three of their losses have come to top teams in the country like Iowa, LSU and Notre Dame. Kitley has been a big reason for another successful season in Blacksburg as she is averaging career highs in points (22.8) and rebounds (11.4) – both top-six marks in the country – while shooting 55.6% from the field. At 6-foot-6, Kitley is one of the taller players at the Division I level and plays a big role on the defensive end as well with two blocks per game. The fifth-year senior has the ability to create matchup problems and will be a big factor in how the NCAA Tournament shakes out.
