Top 10 South Carolina HS baseball players in Class of 2024
3. Mitch Wilson, C, Dorman
There isn’t any better prospect behind the plate in the state in this class than Wilson.
His throw velocity from behind the dish has been measured at 84 miles per hour and his pop time at 1.85 seconds. As a first baseman, Wilson’s 88 miles per hour throw velocity was tops at last June’s Perfect Game Coastal Workout Showcase.
Wilson’s Cavaliers reached last year’s SCHSL Upper District 2-5A semifinals. Before heading off to the University of North Carolina — he’s regarded as the top pledge in the program’s recruiting class — Wilson will look to get further this time around.
