Top 10 Washington HS baseball players in Class of 2024
4. Karsten Sweum, LHP, Glacier Peak
Sweum is one of several talented two-way players on this list and has proven his tremendous upside on the mound time and again as the Evergreen State’s top left-handed pitcher in the Class of 2024. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound southpaw has a nice slider and solid low-90s fastball that keeps hitters off balance. As a junior, Sweum held opponents to a .082 batting average as he maintained a 1.47 ERA. He was also strong at the plate for Glacier Peak, hitting .479 with a .545 on-base percentage and 17 RBIs. The talented senior will look to build on those numbers this spring before staying in state to play college baseball at Gonzaga.
Quick look at Karsten Sweum () on the bump at Upperclass . The LHP showed two different breaking balls and both were good with quality shape. Also mixed in a firm FB down in the zone.
