Top 10 Mississippi HS baseball players in Class of 2024
9. Walter Hooks, LHP, Brandon
Hooks, the top southpaw in the state’s class, delivers an 89-mile-per-hour fastball. For Brandon High School last spring, he posted a 1.69 ERA in 14 appearances, going 8-3 on the year. The Bulldogs finished 23-8 and first in their district.
Hooks has an imposing frame at 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, which surely stood out to Ole Miss, where he’ll continue on to to play collegiately.
I am excited to announce I will be continuing my academic, and baseball career at the University of Mississippi. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to play for the Red and Blue. 馃敶馃數馃
