Carns is unanimously seen as the best backstop in the Sunshine State. The 6-foot, 190-pound catcher batted .478 with 33 hits, 25 RBIs, eight home runs, four doubles and four triples for the Buccaneers. For his efforts, Carns was named PBR Florida first-team all-state and a PBR and Perfect Game All-American.
Carns is ranked as the sixth-best player in Florida by PBR and second by Perfect Game. He is also loved by MLB scouts as he was listed as one of the draft prospects who the top 100 cut by MLB.com. Carns was recently named a preseason All-American by MaxPreps and signed with Florida State on .
