Ranking the ACC鈥檚 best basketball players at midway point
6. Wooga Poplar, G, Miami
While Omier leads Miami鈥檚 frontcourt, Poplar often takes the lead scoring role in the backcourt. Averaging 14.6 points and 5.1 rebounds, the 6-5 guard has been lights out from downtown, making 44.7% of his attempts from the 3-point line. The Hurricanes have one of the best offenses in the country, scoring over 80 points per game and Poplar gets a lot of credit. He鈥檚 scored in double-digits in all but four of their games thus far. Miami still has three games remaining against North Carolina and Duke and it will take big performances from Poplar and Omier to come out of those games with at least one victory.
Strong opening night for Miami's Wooga Poplar with 21 points on 5 3PTM. Only 4.8 3PTA per 40 last year. Notable development if volume shooting continues. Can otherwise impact games with explosion, motor, defense.
