Ranking the best Big Ten basketball players at midway point
2. Boo Buie, G, Northwestern
It feels like Buie has been at Northwestern forever and his veteran presence has been key for a Wildcats team that is poised for a top-five finish in the Big Ten and a second consecutive NCAA Tournament berth. Buie just continues to get better as he sees the court around 36 minutes a game under Chris Collins, averaging career bests in points (18.8), rebounds (3.4) and assists (5.4). Perhaps the biggest improvement in Buie鈥檚 game is his offensive efficiency as he is also shooting a career-best 44.5% from the field and 39% from beyond the arc. Buie has been better on the defensive end of the floor in the last couple of seasons as well and averages 1.3 steals. In a league full of talented guards, Buie may be the best the Big Ten has to offer.
