Ranking each Big 12 basketball team entering conference play
9. Kansas State Wildcats
As many as 10 teams could have a chance to make the NCAA Tournament out of the Big 12 and currently, Kansas State is one of the squads on the fringe of being in that group. The Wildcats are coming off of a thrilling Elite Eight run under Jerome Tang but lost a lot of players from that squad. Kansas State did retain Cam Carter, and he, as well as transfers Tylor Perry and Arthur Kaluma, are all averaging over 15 points. Freshman guard Dai Dai Ames has also looked like the real deal in non-conference play. The Wildcats have suffered some tough losses early on, most recently to Nebraska in a game where they scored just 46 points. However, they have already won four overtime games which should have them battle tested for Big 12 play.
