2. Sam Houston State
Another in-state program, the Bearkats need a new quarterback with starter Keegan Shoemaker exhausting his eligibility. While the team has Grant Gunnell on the roster and recently added Central Michigan transfer Jase Bauer, Chandler has more experience at higher levels than those two.
Chandler was also heavily recruited by Sam Houston State offensive coordinator Brad Cornelsen who served as the OC and quarterback coach for Virginia Tech when the signal caller was a recruit. Cornelsen did such a good job recruiting Chandler that the quarterback even visited Blacksburg before eventually committing to Oklahoma. With Cornelsen on staff,聽 the Bearkats in need of QB help and the campus residing in his home state, Chandler may be swayed into joining the program.
