8. Kentucky Wildcats
John Calipari made the Final Four in three of his first six seasons at Kentucky, but the pressure has increased as he has not returned to that point since the 2014-15 season. In 2023-24, Calipari may have his best shot at reaching the Final Four in recent memory. Last year, the Wildcats reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament thanks to several key contributors, one of which will return this year in senior guard Antonio Reeves. The Wildcats will also feature another talented senior scorer in Tre Mitchell who transferred in from West Virginia.
However, as with most Kentucky teams over the past decade, the biggest reason for optimism is an incredible freshman class. will be suiting up for the Wildcats this season, including Justin Edwards, D.J. Wagner and Aaron Bradshaw. Top-25 prospects Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham 鈥� who put up last month 鈥� will also enter the fold. An abundance of young talent in Lexington is nothing new, but this group seems special. Calipari鈥檚 squad could struggle early on with tough games against Kansas, Miami (FL) and North Carolina, but those contests and the team鈥檚 SEC schedule will have the Wildcats ready for March.
