Ranking the top 10 SEC players entering 2023-24 season
6. Riley Kugel, G, Florida
Kugel is one of the youngest players on this list, but he holds a lot of potential on a Florida team that will feature several new pieces this season. Last year, Kugel earned 23 minutes a game for head coach Todd Golden, averaging 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and one assist while shooting 45.6% from the field, and 37.6% from 3-point range. Although those numbers don’t necessarily jump off the page, it’s what the 6-foot-5 guard did at the end of last season – averaging over 17 points across Florida’s last 10 games – that has fans excited going into 2023-24. Kugel is a natural scorer that should be a leader of the Gators’ offensive attack throughout the coming season.
