5. Maxwell Roy, Jr., St. Joseph’s Prep

Roy plays for what can arguably be considered the top high school defense in Pennsylvania at St. Joseph’s Prep, and is the second Hawks player to make this list. Although he is just entering his junior year, Roy has tremendous size at 6-foot-4, 280 pounds that allows him to be a powerful force in the middle of the Hawks’ defensive line. That was on full display as he helped St. Joseph’s Prep to a state title last season, something the Hawks will again be capable of in 2023 with so many playmakers returning. Also a wrestler and track and field athlete at St. Joseph’s Prep, Roy – ranked in the in the 2025 class – has already garnered interest from several top-tier college football programs such as Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and USC.
