2. Ryan Day, Ohio State
A lot of casual Big Ten fans probably didn鈥檛 know who Ryan Day was when he officially succeeded Urban Meyer following the 2018 season, but since, he has become one of the top coaches in the conference. Day spent time as a grad assistant, wide receivers coach, quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator at various stops including Boston College, Florida and Temple throughout the 2000s, and also served as a quarterbacks coach in the NFL for the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers.听
In 2017, he was hired as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Ohio State. Since 2019, Day has a record of 42-6, leading the Buckeyes to three College Football Playoff appearances. He has helped produce tremendous quarterbacks like Justin Fields and C.J. Stroud, and has made Ohio State arguably the top destination for wide receivers in college football. Although he鈥檒l have a unproven quarterback in Kyle McCord this season, Day should again have Ohio State in position for a College Football Playoff berth come December.
