Ranking all 14 Big Ten head coaches entering 2023 season
1. Jim Harbaugh, Michigan
The Big Ten has a lot of great coaches heading into 2023, but it鈥檚 hard to argue against Harbaugh being at the top right now. First and foremost, the former Michigan and NFL quarterback has a tremendous track record going back to his days at Stanford where he led the Cardinal to a 12-1 season in 2010 alongside quarterback Andrew Luck. He then went 44-19-1 in four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, leading them to the Super Bowl in 2012.聽
Since, Harbaugh has been the head man at his alma mater, going 74-25 across nine seasons, five of which Michigan has earned double-digit victories. Although he was perhaps on the hot seat following a 2020 season where Michigan went just 2-4 overall, he has turned things around drastically, helping the Wolverines to back-to-back Big Ten titles and College Football Playoff appearances. With talented quarterback J.J. McCarthy at the helm, Michigan has a chance to accomplish both feats once again under Harbaugh in 2023.
