5. Anthony Speca, LB, Central Catholic
After beginning his high school career as a quarterback, Speca has come a long way on the defensive side of the ball to turn into one of the best high school linebackers in the country. A tackling machine, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound standout made 70 tackles in 2021 before a breakout junior season last fall in which he racked up 122 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, six sacks, three forced fumbles and one interception. Part of a Central Catholic program that has made it to the district championship game each of the last three seasons, Speca will look to lead the Vikings to a fourth straight appearance in 2023 before he, like several standouts on this list, takes the field at Happy Valley for the Penn State Nittany Lions.
