8. Steve Preece, DB (1969-77)
The Idaho Falls-born defensive back is No. 8 on our list. Preece would attend Borah High School in Boise. The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder went on to play at Oregon State. He was their signal caller for three seasons from 1966-1968. Preece then switched to defensive back as he joined the New Orleans Saints in 1969. His NFL career spanned nine years with five different teams. In 1973, Preece led the league in fumble recoveries.
