Top 10 all-time leading rushers in Texas HS football

10. Jacquizz Rodgers, Lamar Consolidated (2004-07)

This list begins with a fairly recognizable name, as Rodgers went on to have a strong college and eventual pro career following his time at Lamar Consolidated High School. However, it was with the Mustangs that Rodgers first made his name known, scoring 136 career touchdowns which are the third-most all time in the state of Texas. The All-American tailback also ran for 2,200 yards or more in each of his final three seasons at Lamar Consolidated, including an impressive 2,902 yards as a senior that gave him 8,246 rushing yards in his prep career.

The 5-foot-6 running back went on to play alongside his brother at Oregon State, and was highly impressive at the collegiate level as well, rushing for 3,877 yards and scoring 51 total touchdowns across three seasons with the Beavers. In 2010, Rodgers was named the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year.

Forgoing his final year of eligibility, Rodgers was selected 145th overall by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2011 NFL Draft. He would go on to play four seasons in Atlanta before stints with the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, racking up 3,657 total yards and 14 touchdowns during his eight-year NFL career.
