Blanding had a historic career at Virginia following his time at Bayside High School. As a senior for the Marlins, Blanding played four positions on offense (QB, RB, TE, WR), piling up 1,116 all-purpose yards while also registering 118 tackles defensively. This earned Blanding a consensus five-star rating and an opportunity with the Cavaliers.
In Charlottesville, Blanding made his way into the history books as he recorded the most tackles in program history with 495. He also had 16 pass deflections and 10 interceptions in his career and was selected as a second-team All-American as a senior. Blanding went undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft and signed with the Washington Redskins where he would spend one season on the practice squad before spending two years on the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad before being waived in 2020.
