Top 10 highest-rated Michigan HS football players since 2000

7. Ronald Johnson, CB, Muskegon – 0.9923

Johnson did it all during his time at Muskegon High School, playing cornerback, wide receiver, and serving as the Big Reds’ kick and punt returner. Part of state championship-winning teams in both 2004 and 2006, Johnson emerged as a five-star recruit who was ranked No. 16 nationally in the Class of 2007.

While he held offers from many of college football’s powerhouses, Johnson decided to join the USC Trojans where he transitioned to a full-time wide receiver and was tasked with replacing the likes of Steve Smith and Dwayne Jarrett. Across his four years at USC, the 6-foot wideout made 138 catches for 1,750 yards, posting eight-touchdown seasons in both 2008 and 2010.

Johnson went on to be selected in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers, but failed to make the team’s roster that season. Following stints with the Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks, the talented receiver made brief stops in the CFL and the American Indoor Football league.
