Alana Vawter enters transfer portal; 5 spots for star pitcher
2. Missouri
While Missouri may not be the strongest team on this list, ending their season in the Norman Regional of the NCAA Tournament, they do have a clear advantage over other programs 鈥 they reside in Vawter鈥檚 home state. Though this may not be the most important piece of information, softball fans understand that a desire to play closer to home can change everything thanks to the recent Jordy Bahl transfer.
If Vawter desires to play for her home state during her final season, the Tigers would give her that opportunity while also fielding a competitive squad. Though Mizzou made it into the NCAA Tournament, their pitching staff wasn鈥檛 the strongest as they finished ranked No. 125 in the country in ERA. Vawter would not only provide the team with a true ace but would also give leadership and guidance to a youthful rotation hungry to make a splash on the national stage.
