Alana Vawter enters transfer portal; 5 spots for star pitcher

As the old adage goes, 鈥淚f you can鈥檛 beat them, join them,鈥� and that could be exactly what Vawter does. While the Sooners have seemingly no weaknesses given their three consecutive championships, their pitching staff was dealt a devastating blow when Bahl announced her transfer to Nebraska. Couple that with fellow pitcher Alex Storako graduating and the Oklahoma pitching staff suddenly looks vulnerable.
However, Vawter could help the Sooners remain strong in the circle. While she may not be as dominant as Bahl is, Vawter is an experienced pitcher who has played in big games and performed well. By adding her, even for just one year, the Sooners could retain their strong presence in the circle as they look to win an unprecedented fourth straight national championship.
