Top 10 all-time leading passers in Washington HS football
5. Kellen Moore, Prosser (2003-06)
Moore is arguably the most recognizable name on this list thanks to not only his standout high school career, but also his time in college and the NFL. He first came on the radar while playing quarterback at Prosser High School where he threw for 11,367 yards. Moore also holds the state record for passing yards in a season, throwing for 4,600 yards in 2005. In addition, Moore has thrown the most touchdowns all time in the Evergreen State with 173, which included a 67-touchdown season in 2006, breaking his record-setting 66 touchdown passes the year prior.
Even despite the gaudy numbers, Moore was not heavily recruited, ultimately leading him to Boise State. There, he became the Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year, and a three-time conference offensive player of the year as he threw for 14,667 yards and 142 touchdowns. After going undrafted in 2012, Moore latched on with the Detroit Lions, and ended his playing career with the Dallas Cowboys in 2018. He immediately earned a role on Dallas’ coaching staff where he served as a quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator until this past January. Moore will be in his first season as offensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023.
