5 most dominant pitcher outings in NCAA Tournament history
4. Ed Bane, Arizona State vs. Oklahoma (1972)
The Sun Devils were only able to score one run against Oklahoma in the second round of the NCAA Tournament but that鈥檚 all Bane needed. Arizona State鈥檚 star pitcher struck out 17 Sooners as the Sun Devils won the game 1-0. Bane and ASU would go on to be College World Series runners-up after losing two straight games to USC. Bane would lead the Sun Devils to another CWS runner-up finish the next year. That year, he also threw the only perfect game in Arizona State history in a 9-0 win over Cal State Northridge during the regular season. Bane was later inducted into the and had his No. 21 jersey retired by Arizona State.聽
Honored to welcome back Sun Devil Legend Eddie Bane to celebrate the 50-Year Anniversary of his perfect game at ASU!
As expected, that first pitch was right down the middle. ///
