Top 10 leading passers in North Carolina HS football history
3. Connor Mitch, Wakefield (2009-12)
Mitch was another highly-touted prospect coming out of the high school ranks. During his prep career with the Wolverines, Mitch finished ranked second in NCHSAA history in both passing yards and passing touchdowns with 12,078 yards and 153 touchdowns, respectively. His play earned Mitch a four-star rating and a scholarship to the University of South Carolina.
Once with the Gamecocks, Mitch had a rocky career. In three seasons, Mitch threw for 184 yards and one touchdown while rushing for 48 yards and another score. A shoulder injury during his redshirt sophomore year cost him all but two games during the season and he transferred to James Madison in the offseason where he played in five games, going 8-of-17 for 68 yards and one interception before leaving the program after his redshirt junior year.
