Jordan Brown enters transfer portal; Top 5 landing spots

LAFAYETTE, La. (BVM) – Jordan Brown has entered the transfer portal after earning first-team All-Sun Belt honors last season for Louisiana. The 6-foot-11 star forward led the Ragin’ Cajuns in points (19.3 points), rebounds (8.6) and blocks (1.2) en route to an NCAA Tournament appearance.

Louisiana won the Sun Belt Tournament due in large part to Brown’s play which resulted in Sun Belt Tournament MVP honors. The awards continued for Brown who, on March 30, was named the recipient of the , presented annually to the top mid-major player in Division I men’s college basketball.

But the Roseville, California native hasn’t just had success at the mid-major level. Brown has played in 119 career games over the last four seasons at three different schools.

A former five-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American, Brown began his college career by playing sparingly for one season at Nevada (2018-19). After sitting out a season due to NCAA transfer rules, the former Prolific Prep (CA) standout averaged 9.4 points and 5.2 rebounds for Arizona – earning him 2020-21 Pac-12 Sixth Man of the Year honors – before averaging 15.3 points and 8.6 rebounds (good enough for second-team All-Sun Belt honors) in his first year with the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Brown tested the NBA draft waters but withdrew and will now be headed to his fourth school in five years. The grad transfer will be a huge frontcourt addition and an immediate starter for his next program.

With that in mind, here are five possible landing spots for Brown via the transfer portal.
