Top 10 hitters in the 2023 NCAA D-I softball tournament
3. Taryn Kern, IF, Indiana
One of the top freshmen in the entire country, Kern has had an amazing debut season for the Hoosiers. The first year infielder is slashing .411/.581/.959 entering the tournament and has also recorded 60 hits, 22 home runs and a whopping 67 RBIs. Her 22 home runs are tied for second in the country while her .959 slugging percentage ranks third and her 67 RBIs rank fourth.
Though Kern has yet to make an appearance in the NCAA tournament, fans should expect her bat to travel well for Indiana as the team heads to the Knoxville regional. Given her performance as only a freshman, Kern should have no trouble under the lights of the NCAA tournament and could become one of the hottest names entering next season.
