10 best SEC softball players heading into the postseason
8. Kayla Kowalik, C, Kentucky
Kowalik has certainly looked like the best catcher in the SEC throughout much of the season, and is one of the league’s best players overall. During the regular season, the grad student hit .449 – the second best batting average in the SEC – with a conference-best 75 hits. She also sits in the top 10 in the conference in on-base percentage as well as runs scored. The offense is an added bonus to her strong defense behind the plate, and combined with another breakout year from junior standout Erin Coffel, Kentucky has gotten to 30-19-1 as the Wildcats look to make noise in the postseason.
