While Thompson could join one of his former offensive coaches on another team, he could also join forces with his former head coach. Herman was hired as the head football coach at Florida Atlantic in December and could use some more juice at quarterback.
While Herman has added some transfers in Daniel Richardson and Ben Ballard, they have some limitations. Richardson played his first four seasons at Group of 5 Central Michigan while Ballard has served as mostly a backup at Texas. Though this doesn鈥檛 necessarily mean neither will succeed, given Thompson鈥檚 performance at bigger programs and previous relationship with Herman, a reunion may be the best case for all parties involved.
