The Illini were another team that Nkamhoua officially visited as a high schooler and they could still use his services. Last season, Illinois rode the backs of two graduate transfers, Matthew Mayer and Terrance Shannon Jr., on its way to the NCAA Tournament. That recipe could be implemented again with Nkamhoua.
Brad Underwood鈥檚 squad could be in need of some frontcourt help. While center Dain Dainja announced his return, both Shannon Jr. and fellow forward Coleman Hawkins are looking to make the jump to the NBA while Mayer is out of eligibility. Given the team鈥檚 recent string of successes with graduate transfers and his previous interest in the program, Nkamhoua could easily slide into the starting lineup in Champaign by taking on a similar role to that of Mayer last season.
