Indiana has already received a commitment from Ball State transfer center Payton Sparks but the Hoosiers are still thin in the front court. All-American Trayce Jackson-Davis and Race Thompson are done at Indiana and forward Jordan Geronimo is entering the transfer portal. Samuel would come in and be a starter as well as a solid leader in the locker room for a Hoosier team that is losing cornerstone pieces. Malik Reneau should fill in for Jackson-Davis which would allow Samuel to play his natural position at power forward. Mike Woodson has used the transfer portal before and with his frontcourt still in need of depth, Samuel would shore up the starting lineup in the post.聽
