Sahvir Wheeler enters transfer portal; 5 possible landing spots
Kansas State
As Kansas State continued to find success in March, more and more people became familiar with what first-year head coach Jerome Tang did last offseason. With just two guys sticking around when he took over, he hit the transfer portal hard, and is likely to go back to that well, at least in some capacity, again this year. Landing one of the top guards in the portal in Wheeler would be another big get for Tang. Star senior guard Markquis Nowell will likely be departing after his fifth season, meaning there will be a hole to fill at the point guard spot for the Wildcats. With Desi Sills also likely done, Kansas State will need guards to pair with its talented core of junior big men. Playing over 100 career games at the college level, Wheeler would bring an experienced presence similar to that of Nowell to this team, and could help Kansas State on a deeper tournament run next season depending on who else they bring in.
