5 highest combined seeds to make men鈥檚 basketball Final Four
20 (2006)
The first Final Four to not feature a 1 seed, the 2006 Final Four had a diverse group led by 11-seed George Mason. The Patriots became just the second 11-seed to ever advance to the Final Four at the time, becoming one of the most famous Cinderella teams in March Madness history in the process.
The three other teams were 4-seed LSU, 3-seed Florida and 2-seed UCLA. While the combined number of 20 is mostly due to George Mason, the seeding proved to not be the most accurate as Florida dominated UCLA in the championship game 73-57 to cruise to its first national championship and the first of back-to-back titles for the program.
