Top 10 Indiana high school baseball players in Class of 2023
3. Mitchell Dean, LHP, Western
Dean has been on the high school baseball radar in Indiana for quite some time, as he has a strong left-handed delivery on the mound thanks to his 6-foot-7, 220-pound frame. Last season, it helped him to an 8-2 record with a 0.73 ERA and an impressive 106 strikeouts. One of his many strong performances on the mound last year came in late April in which Dean struck out an incredible 16 batters in a win over Northwestern. Also a standout for the Indiana Bulls over the past couple of years, the all-state pitcher plans to take his talents to Louisville – where he has been committed since 2020 – after his time at Western. He will join his older brother Parker, a freshman at Purdue, as a D-I college baseball player.
Mitchell Dean (‘23,IN) was lights out in his start. Allowed just 1 hit in 5 innings of work. Easy operation living 87-90 mph w/ angle. Flipped in a few slurvy BBs & showed adv. feel for a nasty fading CHG. (FB-FB-CHG below) commit
