Top 10 Indiana high school baseball players in Class of 2023
6. Jake Hooker, RHP, University
Hooker is a terrific two-way player that has displayed his entire skillset over the past couple of years at University High School of Indiana. Last season, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound standout hit .405 with 34 hits, three home runs, 33 RBIs and 10 steals. He was also tremendous in the field while playing shortstop, and solid on the mound, throwing a midseason no-hitter with 12 strikeouts against Bethesda Christian. Following another strong summer with Indiana Mustangs Knipp, Hooker will look to lead University to a state title this spring before heading off to play college baseball at Xavier. He is one of a couple of highly-touted Indiana prospects in the Musketeers’ 2023 class, joining Mt. Vernon standout Eli Bridenthal.
Another impressive pitching performance by 2A No. 1 ranked last night. This time it was 2023 commit Jake Hooker with the No-hitter; 5IP, 0R, 12K, 1BB in the 16-0 W.
