10. Zakai Zeigler, G, Tennessee
Zeigler doesn鈥檛 put up the most eye-popping numbers on this list, but it is hard to overstate just how much he, along with his backcourt mate Vescovi, mean to a Tennessee team that is ranked No. 6 in the country. Like Vescovi, the sophomore guard often functions as a catalyst of the offense, averaging around 11 points, three rebounds and five assists. At just 5-foot-9, Zeigler has quickness on both ends of the court and is effective with the pick-and-roll in Rick Barnes鈥� offense. He is also capable of applying strong ball pressure on opposing guards, evidenced by his two steals per game.
For Tennessee fans and SEC fans alike, his shooting continues to be a question mark, as he had a dreadful 0-for-10 performance recently in a grind-it-out 46-43 win over Auburn. However, two games before that against Texas, Zeigler put up 22 points as well as 10 assists in a big victory over the Longhorns. It was one of three double-doubles Zeigler has posted on the season. While the senior Vescovi is a little more consistent and steady than the sophomore, Zeigler has slightly higher upside that will be needed down the stretch for the Vols.
