10. John Carlson, D (2009-current)
The two-time All-Star has been as steady as it gets throughout his Capitals鈥� career and while Ovechkin has captained much of the team鈥檚 pursuit on the offensive end, Carlson has done so on defense. Carlson currently ranks in the top 10 of franchise history in total minutes, assists and points and was integral in the team鈥檚 run to a Stanley Cup. During the team鈥檚 Stanley Cup season, Carlson picked the perfect time to have a career-year, leading all NHL defensemen in points with 68.
