7. Ken Dryden, G, 1970-73, 74-79
If not for his early retirement at 31 years old, Dryden would be higher on the list, and arguably still could be. He became a star right away, being a late call-up in the 1970-71 season and going 6-0. He ultimately was named the starter for that postseason and won the Conn Smythe Trophy, leading Montreal to a Stanley Cup victory. Dryden would finish his career with six Stanley Cups and five Vezina trophies.
