2. Janae Kent, guard, Oak Forest
Another member of the smaller Class 3A, the 6-foot-1 Kent showed she can do a lot on the basketball court with scoring and rebounding. Kent finished her junior campaign averaging 25.5 points and 9.5 rebounds for the Oak Forest Bengals which she led to a 19-11 record and a playoff appearance. The guard was named first-team all-state after earning 79 votes for her selection. Her strong play grabbed the attention of a number of top Division I programs and she committed to LSU after her season ended in March.
