7. Dejounte Murray, G, Rainier Beach
Murray has only been in the NBA for six seasons, but has already proven how talented he is, and how bright his future remains. Murray is one of several Rainier Beach products on this list, and won three state championships with the Vikings as well as Washington鈥檚 Mr. Basketball award. Murray stayed home to play at Washington for just one season in 2015-16, but again showed his brilliance as he averaged 16.1 points, 4.4 assists and six rebounds as a second-team All-Pac 12 player. After just one season in college, the 6-foot-4 guard decided to enter the NBA, and was selected 29th overall by the San Antonio Spurs in 2016. Entering the league as young as he did, the now 26-year-old Murray was seen as a bit of a project, and had a slow start in the first two years of his pro career. He would go on to miss his third NBA season with a torn ACL, but came back in 2019-20 to show flashes of just how good he could be. His talent came to fruition in 2020-21 as Murray averaged 15.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists. Last season, Murray was even better, earning his first All-Star appearance while averaging career bests in points (21.1), rebounds (8.3) and assists (9.2). The next chapter of Murray鈥檚 NBA career will be with the Atlanta Hawks who he was traded to during the 2022 offseason.
