Top 10 NFL players from Milwaukee
2. Matt Turk, P, Greenfield
Turk took a route to the NFL that is common for Wisconsinites. After his time at Greenfield High School, Turk attended the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater and played football for the Warhawks. While at Whitewater, he earned all-conference honors and two conference titles. Turk entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent and signed with the Green Bay Packers in 1993. That year with the Packers and the 1994 season with the LA Rams, he wasn’t able to make a roster but in 1995, he made it onto the Washington Redskins roster. That was the start to a 17-year career in the NFL that included three pro bowls and one season in which he was First-Team All-Pro. The youngest of six brothers, he even got the chance to play with his brother Dan while in Washington. His brother, a center and long snapper, got to snap to Matt. Matt retired after the 2011 season.
