7. Zach Gentry, TE, Eldorado
The lone current player on this list, Gentry also has one of the more unique journeys to the NFL. As the quarterback for Eldorado, Gentry was named second-team all-state as a junior and first-team all-state as a senior after throwing 316-of-582 for 3,734 yards and 27 touchdowns while also rushing 242 times for 1,013 yards and 26 touchdowns for his career. The for the Class of 2015, Gentry committed to the University of Michigan. With the Wolverines, Gentry was switched to tight end during his sophomore year and filled the role admirably over the next three seasons, playing in 33 games while catching 49 passes for 817 yards and four touchdowns. He was selected by the Steelers in the fifth round with pick No. 141 in the 2019 NFL Draft. Over the course of his three-year NFL career, Gentry has played in 23 games with 13 starts recording 20 catches for 171 yards. He is expected to be on the Steelers’ roster for the 2022 season and could easily climb up this list in the future.Â
