Top 10 Illinois RBs for 2022 IHSA football season
8. TaRyan Martin, Soph., East St. Louis
Just a sophomore, Martin鈥檚 name will likely be on this list for years to come. The talented back already holds Division I offers from West Virginia, Toledo and Miami (OH), and should receive many more as the year goes on. As a freshman, Martin ran for over 900 yards and 14 touchdowns behind DI lineman Miles McVay and Paris Patterson Jr. on a powerhouse East St. Louis squad. The 5-foot-8, 175-pound back was dominant to finish the season with 100-yard performances in each of East St. Louis鈥� final three games, including a 101-yard effort in a state championship loss to Cary Grove. While they lost some talent to graduation, East St. Louis seems primed for another strong season behind budding stars like Martin.
