One of the best known modern players from the region, Harvin excelled for the Landstown Eagles, helping the program go to three state championship games and win one title while scoring 77 touchdowns in his career and was the No. 2 overall recruit in the country in the . Harvin became another 757 player to make his way to Florida, playing for Urban Meyer and the Florida Gators. Used as a do-it-all gadget player, Harvin excelled in three years in Gainesville, rushing for 1,852 yards and 19 touchdowns while catching 133 passes for 1,929 yards and 13 touchdowns in his career. Given his explosive abilities, Harvin was selected in the first round, No. 22 overall, of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. Injuries ultimately shortened what looked to be a strong career as Harvin played eight seasons for four NFL teams and accumulated 353 receptions, 4,026 receiving yards, 22 receiving touchdowns, 146 rushes for 927 yards and five touchdowns as well as 4,127 kick return yards.
