COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s basketball sophomore Agot Makeer played in all five games for Canada at the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament in Guadalajara, Mexico, last week. Her 8.2 points per game and 56.3 percent field goal shooting helped her home country capture the only available spot in the FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournaments 2028. The tournament was Makeer’s first with Canada’s senior national team, and she got better as the event went on, posting double-digit points in the semis and finals.
