Our Pro Wire Athletes of the Week for the week of August 22 are Vandalia football senior quarterback Qwentyn Stombaugh, the Vandalia Jr. High Baseball team and the Vandalia Jr. High Softball team. VCHS quarterback Qwentyn Stombaugh ran for three touchdowns, threw for three more and also connected a pass for a 2-point conversion as the Vandals beat the Carlinville Cavaliers 48-20 to open the football season on Friday night.
