H.S. Football Roundup | Four area teams open season with wins
High school football season began on Aug. 21, and several area teams kicked off the season right. Berne Union 40, River Valley 6: The Rockets cruised in their nonconference opener. Junior quarterback Carson Kiger had a huge night. He completed 14 of 18 passes for 262 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for a touchdown. Defensively, Jackson Little had an interception, and James Hocking returned an interception for a touchdown. Hocking also caught a 32-yard touchdown pass.
