Two Bears Selected to Deacon Jones Player of the Year Watch List
BALTIMORE, Md. (August 21, 2026) — Morgan State football standouts Arturo Mattocks and Alex Simmons have been named to the 2026 Deacon Jones Player of the Year Watch List, as announced by the Black College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia. The Deacon Jones Trophy is presented annually to the most outstanding football player from a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).
