July 25, 2026 CLEARWATER, Florida -- Dakota State's Sports Information Director, Nick Huntimer, helped lead the Blue Sox to their third consecutive National Softball Association of the Deaf (NSAD) National Championship, continuing the team's run as one of the nation's premier deaf softball programs. The Blue Sox, featuring players from South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Kansas, battled through the tournament shorthanded with just 11 players. They went undefeated in bracket play before capturing the championship in dramatic fashion with a walk-off RBI single in extra innings.
