Impending weather moves four WNC high school football games to Aug. 20
Several Week 1 Western North Carolina high school football games have been moved up to Thursday, Aug. 20 with a strong chance of thunderstorms on Aug. 21. Most affected games involve WNC teams playing opponents from outside the region, including schools in Rutherford and Gaston counties. Owen at Rosman is the only game between two WNC teams moved up to Thursday, Aug. 20. The Citizen Times and Times-News are tracking all Week 1 schedule changes.
